Three days at Compassion Retreats costs US$1,999 for one person and US$2,999 for a couple sharing one villa. Five days costs US$3,999 for one person and US$5,999 for a couple. The figure covers the villa with meals and the practices. Flights and travel insurance sit outside it, and so does the optional psilocybin session.
This piece sits in our writing on retreating in Mexico.
What does a private retreat in Mexico cost?
The honest answer is a range rather than a single number. At Compassion Retreats the ladder runs as follows, and it is the same price for everybody.
| Stay length | One person | Couple sharing one villa |
|---|---|---|
| Three days | US$1,999 | US$2,999 |
| Four days | US$2,999 | US$4,499 |
| Five days | US$3,999 | US$5,999 |
The figure is the price of the villa and not a price per head. Two people sharing pay one and a half times the single price. A one-day experience costs US$450 per person or US$750 for a couple.
Private retreats in this region vary widely in price and the difference is almost always what sits inside the figure. The ladder above is complete rather than a starting point, which is the first thing worth checking anywhere.
What does the price include?
At Compassion Retreats the villa with all meals and transfers is inside the figure, along with the practices. Water with tea and coffee runs through the day. Two integration calls by video after you go home are inside the figure as well, in the first month.
Transfers are covered by Compassion Retreats from TQO about thirty minutes away and from Cancun International about one hour forty minutes away. Meals are cooked on the day from the market and from local growers, and dietary needs are taken as fact rather than negotiated.
What sits outside the price?
Flights and travel insurance come first and both are yours to arrange. The psilocybin session is optional, quoted on the call and paid separately. It never sits inside a platform booking. Psilocybin sits in a legal grey area in Mexico and reading the law before you travel is your part of the work.
At Compassion Retreats paid extras are the temazcal ceremony, massage, Mayan clay spa, Thai massage and extra nights. The temazcal is not included in any retreat price. Written prices for all of them come before you pay anything.
Why does a private retreat cost what it does?
At Compassion Retreats two facilitators give your party their whole days rather than splitting attention across a room of guests. A chef cooks for one table. The house stays empty of strangers, which means the booking that week is yours alone.
A group retreat costs less per person because the same costs are divided across more people. That is a fair trade and plenty of guests take it. What you pay for privately is the quiet and the attention, and those two things cost what they cost.
What are the deposit terms?
At Compassion Retreats a 30% deposit holds the dates and it is non-refundable after a 72 hour grace window. The balance falls due seven days before arrival. Changes of date are allowed.
Read those terms before the call rather than after it. A deposit is a commitment in both directions and we would rather you knew it early.
Is there ever a discount?
No. Compassion Retreats runs one price, the same for everybody. There are no sales and there are no codes.
If the price is out of reach, say so on the screening call rather than after it. We would rather know it early. The point of one price is that nobody has to negotiate for care.
